Former PNG Police chief now new head of national security agency

Former Papua New Guinea Police Commissioner Gari Baki has been
appointed as the new Director General of the National Intelligence
Organisation.
Mr Baki, 56 years-old from West New Britain Province, has served
in the Papua New Guinea Constabulary for 36 years, four of which as
Commissioner of the Force.
In a short interview with the Post Courier Mr Baki said the
Organisation is a key institution in alerting and gathering vital information
for intelligence and it supports of law enforcement, national security, defence
and foreign policy objectives.
His appointment is for a four year term.
